Description

Completed YCH of: YCH auction. [CLOSED] by Eredhys

Woaaa woaaa so much hard work on this one, I spent so many hours doing this haha! But at least I'm quite happy with the result <3

As you can see, I didn't make her tail go up and around the moon the whole way because I tried and it didn't look that great, so I hope it's okay that way =) I hope you like it, thanks so much for purchasing the YCH and being so nice and patient!

(Please bear with me, this is my first critique ever, but I thought this beautiful piece deserves one. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=":) (Smile)"/> )

I really don't know where to start with this...maybe with my first expression?
"WHOAH..this is...so...so...beautiful!"
Theme-wise this is something I have seen before, but, I'll be honest, I've never seen it executed that well!

The overall color sheme is well chosen! The blue and red parts go well together and also add to the overall picture. There's no "dominant single" color, everything get's repeated somewhere, which makes it all feel as if it belongs together. For example, the light blue moons color gets repeated in the bright glow behind the character, or the red color of the "ghost-orbs" are also visible on the character.

You did a great job on the starry sky, however, in it is one of the two things I would change about this picture, and this is the moon. Compared to the rest of it, it's blurry and less detailed and therefore seems slightly out of place.
The rest of it is gorgeous, the colors are (as already pointed out) very well chosen and I like how the stars have different sizes, colors and even some slight sparkles in them.

Next, the character. The fellas face turned out beautiful, a fitting expression for the overall atmosphere of this piece. I also somehow really like the chest fur...
Here comes the second thing I would change - the tail! It's good, that you didn't included it the way it was on the sketch, as this would've disturbed the atmosphere. However, personally I'd have put it hanging down between the two legs, aligned to the left leg, so that it doesn't block off the bright blue completely, but is still visible so that the viewer knows that it's there.

Lastly, the lower part. You did a great job on the, well, "spirit-swirls" and the orbs! There's so much movement in the lower picture, compared to the calm parts of the sky. It's very well balanced! And the swirls themselves look very great as well! They're not too sharp, but also not too blurry - simply a perfect combination of both.
The stone on which the character stands is nicely shaped and detailed, I especially enjoy the left side of it.

All together this creates a very beautiful image, with a fantastic, mystical, atmosphere.
Well done! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=":) (Smile)"/>
